Overview: Do you love the outdoors and working with kids? Come join us as a lead or assistant teacher at Tiny Treks Outdoor Preschool or Parent/Child programs in Redmond, WA. 

We will train you! Tiny Treks Outdoor Preschool and Parent/Child programs are experiential nature classes and we live the Scandinavian saying that "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing.” The preschool is 100% outdoors

Duties: 

Preschool- Assist/Lead Teacher to guide/supervise children, ages 3-5 or 5-8, on outdoor explorations and learning at our 12.5 acre campus in Redmond, WA.

Parent/Child- Guide and Teach children (ages 20m-5yrs) and parents at Outdoor locations in and around Redmond, WA.

Partner with/be Lead Teacher to:

  • Care and Nurture the children enrolled in the outdoor classroom

  • Encourage and supervise activities based on the children and environment

  • Know whereabouts and safety of each child

  • Be engaged with circle time, learning the songs and gestures

  • Guide crafts creation, forest exploration and water play

  • At times, be able to cover another teacher’s absence

  • Commitment to a land stewardship ethic in their use of the site

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Must be comfortable sitting on ground and getting dirty

  • Be able to handle insects and comfortable "getting hands dirty"

  • Ability to communicate with children in a kind and loving manner

  • Physical ability and endurance for all aspects of Nature school

  • Must be able to hold clear and strong boundaries for children and parents

  • Must be observant at all times

  • Punctuality, attention to detail and a strong work ethic

  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to transport materials

Will Need:

  • Current Adult/Pediatric first aid/CPR/AED and Background Check
